Cookie policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026. This policy explains how Website For Less (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and tracking pixels) on websiteforless.co.uk, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixels. They allow a site to function, remember your choices and measure how it is used.
2. Strictly necessary
These are essential for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They include storage that remembers your application progress, keeps the payment and onboarding steps secure, keeps admin users signed in, prevents fraud, and records your cookie choice. Under PECR, consent is not required for strictly necessary storage.
3. Analytics and attribution (consent required)
With your consent, we record how visitors arrive at and use our site, including campaign parameters (such as UTM tags and advertising click identifiers), pages viewed and steps completed. This helps us understand and improve our service and marketing.
4. Advertising (consent required)
With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, for example when an application is submitted or a subscription is started, and to show relevant adverts to people who have visited our site. Meta may combine this information with other data it holds under its own privacy policy, and may transfer data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
5. Third-party services
Some pages embed content from third parties, such as our payment provider (Stripe) and video players (such as YouTube). These providers may set their own cookies, including for security and fraud prevention, which are governed by their own policies. We do not control these cookies and accept no responsibility for them.
6. Managing your choices
When you first visit, you can accept or reject optional cookies using our banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site, which will cause the banner to appear again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings and opt out of interest-based advertising in your Facebook ad preferences.
Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent the application, payment or onboarding process from working. We are not responsible for any loss of functionality resulting from your browser settings.
7. Retention
Necessary storage generally lasts until your session ends or your application is completed. Your cookie choice is stored for up to 12 months. Third-party cookies last for the period set by the relevant provider.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy at any time, and the version published on this page applies. Questions can be sent to support@websiteforless.co.uk.
