Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026. This policy explains how Website For Less (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit our website, apply for or use our services, or contact us. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using our website or services you acknowledge this policy.

1. Data we collect

Information you give us: your name, business name, email address, phone number, address, business details, answers to our application and onboarding questions, files you upload (such as logos and images), and messages you send us.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive limited information such as payment status, card type, last four digits and billing details.

Technical and marketing data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, referral source, campaign parameters (such as UTM tags and advertising click identifiers) and, with your consent, cookie and pixel data. See our Cookie Policy.

2. How we use it and our lawful bases

Contract: to assess your application, take payment, build, host and maintain your website, and provide support.

Legitimate interests: to run and secure our business, prevent fraud and payment disputes, improve our services, follow up on incomplete applications or checkouts with relevant service messages, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We balance these interests against your rights.

Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

Consent: for optional analytics and advertising cookies and, where required, marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

3. Communications

We may contact you by email, phone or messaging services about your application, payment, onboarding and account. Where you are a business contact, we may send you related service and marketing messages under the soft opt-in or our legitimate interests. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing support@websiteforless.co.uk.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers acting on our behalf, including hosting and database providers, Stripe (payments), email delivery providers, our website build and design partners, analytics and advertising providers such as Meta (with your consent), and professional advisers such as accountants, insurers and solicitors.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect our rights, property or safety, or in connection with a sale, merger or restructuring of our business.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or other lawful safeguards.

6. How long we keep data

Incomplete applications: up to 12 months from your last interaction. Client and account records: for the life of your subscription and up to 6 years afterwards, to meet tax obligations and limitation periods for legal claims. Payment records: as required by law (normally 6 years). Cookie data: as described in our Cookie Policy. We may keep anonymised data indefinitely.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and secure, expiring links for onboarding and file uploads. However, no internet transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping links and login details we send you confidential.

8. Your clients’ data

Where your website collects personal data from your own customers (for example through enquiry forms), you are the data controller and we act as your processor. You are responsible for your own privacy notice, lawful basis and responding to your customers’ requests.

9. Your rights

Subject to legal exceptions, you have the right to access your data, correct it, request erasure, restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing), data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email support@websiteforless.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within one month. We may retain data where we have a legal basis to do so, such as defending a claim or meeting a legal obligation.

If you are unhappy, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy at any time, and the version published on this page applies. For any privacy question, contact support@websiteforless.co.uk.
